Program Acronyms & Descriptions

FUSD - Fremont Unified School District.

​

IHS - Irvington High School, located at 41800 Blacow Road in Fremont, CA 94538.

​

VAPA - IHS is a Visual And Performing Arts (VAPA) Magnet School.

​

CCA - The Center for the Creative Arts is the magnet program to which all students wanting to come to IHS, who have an interest in the arts, can apply even if they reside in a separate attendance area within Fremont. CCA Students will have arts integrated into their core curriculum and will be encouraged to take part in the other visual and performing arts programs on campus.

ICT - The Irvington Conservatory Theater; This is the IHS Conservatory Theater Training program. Courses include: 

  • Drama 1 - Introduction to Theater Arts

  • Drama 2 - Intermediate Acting

  • Drama 3 - Advanced Acting

  • Stagecraft

  • Rehearsal Performance

  • All courses with the exception of Drama 1, provide college credit through the Ohlone College Concurrent Enrollment program.

  • (New!) Upon meeting the designated requirements, ICT students will receive a Certificate of Conservatory Completion

PAC - Performing Arts Club; The student club which, in conjunction with ICT, produces all the plays, organizes student events, and fundraises for the theater program.

 

ITS - The International Thespian Society. The PAC is an International Thespian Troupe (#2478) under the Educational Theater Association (ETA). Students are awarded points, officer designations, academic and performance awards through this nationally and internationally recognized organization.  At the end of each year qualifying students are inducted into ITS and become Thespian Troupe Members.  Graduating seniors and officers receive their pins of office and commencement honors at this time as well.
